For well over a year we have been looking forward to our Disney Cruise. I CAN'T believe it is only days away at this point. We are going to have so much fun with our family and friends that will be joining us on this "MAGICAL JOURNEY!"

The triplets are thrilled to spend some very special time with cousins and good friends from out of state. They talk about it nonstop.

What a beautiful day it was! I was so overwhelmed while holding Evan during the Christening. He was just precious and perfect...he slept through the entire ceremony and looked like a little doll. At his party later that evening, Jess (his mm) played a slide show that she put together and I don't think there was a dry eye in the place. :)

What a blessing he is! The triplets are VERY protective of him and are such big helpers. Our family is definately complete with baby Evan in our lives! :)

Special Day.....

We just got back from a very special ceremony. Evan Vincent was baptized this morning at our beautiful church. At one point, my eyes welled up with tears. As I looked at this precious baby in my arms, I thought back to all of the things he has been through since his VERY early birth back in January. We are SO blessed that he is with us and doing well. My husband and I are honored to be his God parents and plan to play a very important role in this little miracle's life.

I have been VERY bad about blogging! I can't believe it has been so long but time has been slipping away from me. The triplets are now in Pre-K and doing quite well. A is back in dance and the boys have just started soccer. We are preparing for a wonderful fall season and I am HOPING I can get my act together to blog about it. We have a Disney Cruise planned and family and friends coming to stay with us in November...yay!!!! Here are few pictures of the last few months.....

Hi All-

I just wanted to let you know that after SIX months...my Godson, Evan....is COMING HOME!!! This has been a very long journey for this precious little baby (and of course his mommy and daddy). I am so thrilled that within the next day or two the little pumpkin will FINALLY be in the comfort of his own home. His mom (and my bf) started a blog a few months back. Last week we set off for a trip to New Jersey to see family and then headed to the Big Apple. My husband did not go with us since he had to work, so I went with my friend, Jess and my sister-in-law, Mary. We packed A LOT into our five short days! The triplets had a wonderful time being with all of their cousins and seeing all the sights NYC had to offer. :)

Summer is in full swing and I LOVE it!! The other day the triplets and I were in the car chanting.... "Summer time, oh yay....summer time!" We did this for at least 5 minutes straight laughing so hard the entire time. Of course, when the chant turned into happy SCREAMS....we moved on. :) Our summer is full of wonderful plans with friends and family! Our first stop....NJ and NYC!!! Look out world....here we come!

Being a teacher....

For the last ten years I have taught high school (the last four have been part time). I truly LOVE my job and enjoy working with the teenagers....yes, I know some of you think I am crazy. :)

As we are getting ready to close out the year, I am excited for summer but a little sad as well. It's hard to say good-bye to the graduating seniors. I have the opportunity to teach them when they are freshman...still babies...and then get to watch as they grow into these amazing young men and women. As the National Honor Society sponsor at my school, I am able to work with a lot of my students quite closely. It's hard NOT to form bonds with them. Yes, I will miss them TONS but I am excited for them get out there and experience life.

We had a wonderful holiday. :) The kids enjoyed coloring eggs and hunting for them the next morning. Easter Sunday was spent at my sister/brother in laws house and we had an enjoyable time with extended family.

Evan Update...

Evan is 10 weeks old at this point. Last week he had a major set back. :( He had two surgeries on his intestines. The doctors were only able to save 1/3 of them. In about 8 weeks they plan to go back and do another surgery to "re-attach" parts. We are all hoping and praying this will be successful. My Godson is a little fighter and he has been through so much. Please continue to pray for this precious child....and for his mommy and daddy, too. They are all struggling.

The last month has been full of fun. We have had company stay at our house from two different states, B and I both celebrated our bdays, we have been to numerous kids bday parties and I threw Jessica her baby shower. I have not had a chance to update the blog so here goes....

Valentines Day was wonderful. We got up and went for breakfast with Jess and Adam (baby Evan is doing well, by the way). After, we took the kids to fly their kites which they got for VDay. The LOVED it! It was so cute seeing them around with those kites like crazy! Later that evening, the kids stayed at my in laws and we enjoyed an evening out with another couple. We sat outside right on the water and had a great meal. Overall, it was such a fun day. :) Now...it is Monday and one of the trips has some kind of stomach bug...yuck. We'll see who is next....

With Valentines Day quickly approaching, I thought I would share a special story that I wrote. A magazine I enjoy had a writing contest that I entered (did not win) a few months ago. The topic was "My Most Important Day." Here is my entry...

Valentines Day commonly brings images of roses, heart shaped boxes of chocolate, and candle lit dinners with that special someone. For others, Valentines Day typically is accompanied by fancy gold and diamond laced jewelry; or perhaps teddy bears or balloons are more appropriate.

Whatever one’s pleasure may typically be, finding your feet in stirrups, lying in a dark, cool room, listening to your husband and doctor chat while in a drug induced fog would not usually be someone’s dream Valentines Day or ANY day for that matter, but it was mine.

My husband and I did “all the right things” – we waited. We both went to college, graduating with our undergraduate degrees the same year. I then pursued my chosen career path as a teacher, while my husband began law school. Three long and lonely years passed.

All the while I knew that my sense of loneliness was not simply a byproduct of the countless hours that my husband would spend studying at the law library. In short, my biological clock was ticking; I wanted to be a mother more than anything in the world.

While I knew my husband shared the same long-term goals that I maintained insofar as he also wanted children, the subject was taboo during the “law school years.” So I continued to wait patiently – my time would come.

Three years later, the day had come. We were both budding professionals with young, but stable careers that were suitable to raise a family. Unfortunately, to my surprise and my chagrin, I quickly learned that I could not conceive on my own. Determined to overcome the odds, we tried everything, but our efforts were to no avail. So we researched and weighed our options: adoption versus the dreaded “infertility route.”
Our decision was tempered by statistics and financial limitations, but we nevertheless dipped into our savings and consulted with several infertility specialists. After another several years of endless procedures, countless medicines and trying “every trick in the book,” we had come to the “end all … be all” of infertility options - in vitro fertilization!

The day had come (again – but this time for real). I fully expected to be an emotional wreck on this most important day. In the days and weeks leading up to my visit with the doctor, I pictured myself crying, being overly dramatic (which I am known for) and just plain old scared. However, I found the exact opposite to be true.

I was eerily calm and ready to do whatever was necessary. In fact, during the procedure, I found myself to be quite witty. My husband has since informed me (on many occasions) that it was just the drugs talking. One thing that I DO know for sure is that while I laid in that stark, white room, wearing a cloth hospital-like gown, all I could think about was the unconditional love I held in my heart for our unborn, unconceived child. And on that particular day, Valentines Day, I was overwhelmed with hope and excitement with the sincere belief that soon I would hold a beautiful child in my arms.

To me the entire procedure seemed to be over in minutes and I basically slept away the rest of the day …while visions of eggs being fertilized in a petree dish danced in my head. In reality, the procedure continued for more than one hour and for a brief period of time, my husband apparently experienced some apprehension in that he questioned whether the eggs that were being taken from my body would suffice in number and quality. My optimism and confidence, however, remained steadfast.

The weeks that followed seemed like months. Nevertheless, we ultimately learned that we were, in fact, expecting. The ensuing several weeks were filled with joy and candidly a sense of relief and accomplishment. It was during a follow-up visit with my doctor that we learned of more amazing news. Luck would have it that my dream of holding my child in my arms was coming true three-fold – we were having triplets.

Four years later, when I look at my two sons and my daughter I often find myself going to back to “D” day, reliving it in my mind. The fact that is was Valentines Day always brings a smile to my face, as the holiday has taken on a new meaning for me. While most people celebrate Valentines Day through gifts of material affection, for me the holiday now represents the day I realized the ultimate love. For me, no romantic gesture will ever top the day that my little miracles were made.

Have not been keeping up with the blog lately but plan to get myself in gear again!!! A few of you have asked about baby Evan and I wanted to let you know that he is doing well. He is 18 days old today and stable...this is wonderful. He will likely be in the NICU for the next three months. Prayers are still needed and well appreciated. Jessica and Adam (the proud parents) are holding strong and are learning to take one day at a time. :)

Vegas Trip...

Here is a picture of Evan...our miracle Godson. He turned a week old yesterday! He is doing quite well. The NICU was able to take the warming lamp and plastic covering off of him because he is able to maintain is own temperature!!! This is wonderful news.

Jessica came home from the hospital on Thursday. She is on modified bed rest for a few weeks but SO happy to be home. She is allowed to go and visit Evan daily...which is a blessing.

Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Still needing lots of prayers....

Baby Evan was born on Friday, January 16th. Jessica was 26 weeks pregnant when she delivered. They had to take him via c-section because her health was in danger. The little guy weighed in at 1 pound and 8 oz and was 13 inches long. She had some complications and has been in ICU since Sunday but we are hoping she will be out by tomorrow.

I saw Evan today...so tiny and precious. He has a long way to go but he is a fighter. Please keep praying for my sweet friends and God child.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Jessica and her baby. They have been able to stablize her (thank goodness) and now it will just be a waiting game. They are hoping to have her hang in there for as long as possible so baby Evan can grow! Both of her parents have flown in and are helping Adam with shifts. I know she is BEYOND happy to have her mom and dad here. I was with her yesterday for a few hours and her attitude is positive, her color is back and she was ready to EAT like crazy. :) I will keep you all posted. We will be gone this weekend but I will be sure to update on Tuesday.

What a WONDERFUL holiday! We made so many great memories this Christmas season. The children enjoyed themselves immensely and so did the adults. We are so thankful for our family and friends. What a great life!

The children and I baked dozens of cookies the other day. We had such a ball being together, making a mess (which I usually don't like) and singing Christmas carols. Gosh, I LOVE this time of year and I adore this age!

My four year old triplets are VERY excited about Santa this year. Last year they enjoyed the holiday season but they did not "anticipate it." If that makes sense...

Anyways, here is what they have said they want...

A.M.- cheerleading costume to play dress up, teacher "stuff"...she loves to play Ms. Dianne (which is her teacher) and I found the CUTEST teaching set for her!

C.A.- a grinch costume and guitar

Last week we attended the wedding of someone very special. Leslee, who was our nanny since the triplets were only 4 months old, got married to Matthew. They had a wonderful wedding and she was a BEAUTIFUL bride.

The wedding was a few hours away, so we were gone for pretty much the entire weekend. It was a nice getaway from the triplets....as much as I adore them. :)

We had the awards ceremony this past Monday for soccer. I can't believe how fast the season went. The boys really learned a lot. Not only did they learn the sport itself but they found out what it means to work as a team. Their coach was patient and kind...I appreciated that.

Caught a moment of my family watching Polar Express in 3D....priceless!

My children and their friend, Jake went to our churches fall festival. They had a ball. Looking at this picture makes me realize how big they are getting.

My husband is a good man. He is smart, works hard and takes care of us. But....there are some things he just screws up and handling heavy machinery is one of them. I told him NOT to take our son out on the lake but he insisted everything would be fine. Above you will find a picture of my husband and son, soaking wet and stuck in the middle of the lake. He tipped them over and in the process lost the "little thingy" that restarts the jet ski. They had to "float" in with the current. Don't think C.A. will be going at with daddy on a jet ski any time soon. :)

I am THRILLED to say that I am half way done with my Christmas shopping. I am elated!! Once the season really gets under way, I want to enjoy it. Running around like a mad woman and fighting the crowds is not fun. I would rather be with my family and friends, hosting parties, attending parties, baking, decorating, wrapping, EATING, etc.....

This year (because of their age) I am REALLY trying to explain the "real" reason for Christmas. It is very important that they know behind the gift giving and colorful lights, this holiday means so much more!

Gosh, I just love this time of year!

Being a mom...

Some days are better than others. Today was NOT a good day. My daughter was completely out of whack and VERY mouthy. She said things that were actually hurtful to me. I know she has been a bit under the weather and daddy has been traveling a lot. So, maybe these things are contributing to her "moments." Whatever the reasons are, I am having a hard time adjusting. A.M. has always been my "go to kid" and my "mother hen." She is (and always has been) much more mature than her brothers. I have been able to count on her to behave and act "appropriately." Lately, she has been talking back and yelling at me. This is NOT my child, is it? Because she could not control her mouth, I didn't allow her to go to dance tonight. I really felt bad about it because I know she looks forward to it all week BUT I felt I needed to stand my ground and show her that her behavior is not allowed. Was I too hard?? Maybe....I expect too much from her, period. After all, she is four! Maybe she is feeling pressured (in her own way) to be the "perfect kid." I don't know what the answer is. What I DO know, is that being a mom is the hardest job I have ever had. Am I the only one who has these days? Do your children act out? HELP!

Last night was a lot of fun for the children. They loved going trick or treating and seeing all of the other kids and their costumes. Our neighborhood is FULL of small children so it is always packed with people! Their favorite part was handing out candy to the trick or treaters at our house. Afterward, we had a small group of people back out our house for desserts and more fun. :)

Hi All-

I know two of my fellow bloggers have tagged me and I WILL post about it in a few days. This week has been crazy busy. Take my normal life and add company coming in from NJ, going to the World Series last night(AMAZING) and leaving for Disney in the morning....I am a little high strung right now. I have been neglecting my blog for a few days and promise to pick it up at the beginning of next week. :)

The last two days have been a lot of fun for the kids. Yesterday we went to my friend Rhonda's house and she had a little cooking activity for them. They made their own pizzas and dessert. Afterwards, they hung out in the jacuzzi.

Today, my friend Kelly had "kid craft day" at her house. Every craft was Halloween themed....too cute. :)

I often remind them(and myself)how lucky we are and what a wonderful life we have. Great family, friends, etc... We are truly blessed!

Thanks to Kelly for having us show off our nurseries. It made me take a walk back in time. :)

When we got pregnant almost five years ago we lived in a smaller home. So, when we found out we were having triplets, we knew they were going to have to share a room. Finding out we were having both sexes made it even more interesting. I tried to go as neutral as possible with colors and theme. It wasn't easy! Plus, I needed storage. Below you will see pictures of our mural that we had done and also the closet that was built in for the triplets. :)

Needless to say, we built a new house since then and have much more room. I have posted pictures of my daughters room a few months ago and at some point will get shots of the boys room on this blog. :)

Disney Bound

Disney is two weeks away and my kiddos can barely stand themselves! This will be the third time we have taken them...each time it gets better. :)

We are going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this year. Prior to Disney, we are taking the kids to Bippity Boppity Boutique. The girls will get the "works" and the boys will have their hair spiked with colorful gel and confetti. TOO CUTE! After going to BBB, the girls normally dress up in princess costumes but I wanted to do something a little different since it is Halloween time. I ordered A.M. an embroidered shirt and tutu that are "Halloweenish." Let me just tell you how ADORABLE she looks in it. :) They boys got to pick out some really cute shirts that they are going to wear as well.

Our family (from NJ) are coming down and will be enjoying the fun with us. We can't wait to see them!! I will be sure to post lots of pictures of this little mini-vacation. :)

Weekend Wrap

We had a very good (minus the barf incident) and busy weekend. Friday night was our monthly bunco game. We are finishing are 4th year playing together as a group. I just love those girls! Saturday morning was the boys first soccer game and that was too cute. After the game we went for breakfast then home to change (kids had a fall photo shoot). Saturday night we went out to dinner with our best friends...minus the triplets. Saturday night is OUR night. We always have a sitter or grandparents lined up on Saturdays so we can have some time for fun. :) Today we surprised Leslee (the triplets nanny for the last four years) with a bridal shower. It was at a local restaurant and she was shocked! :)She is getting married next month. :)

Soccer practice started this week. This is the very first time the boys are taking part in an organized sport. Boy...do they have a lot to learn. Their practice was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I can not WAIT until Saturday...their first game. It is going to be a scream.

So, the four and five year old group went first....and she saw me in the stands. It was a complete bust. I was disappointed but decided I couldn't worry about it. The next few groups went and just when I thought it was over...they asked the 4/5 year old group to dance again. I hid!! :) I stayed really low (while video taping) and she never saw me. Guess what?? She danced! She might have been a few step behind BUT she was dancing. I was ELATED!

After the performances, all of the girls were able to go out on the football field for the National Anthem, football team introductions, etc.. She and her good friend were thrilled. After the pregame show, it was off to sit in the stands with the Chiefettes for 1st quarter. She was so excited that they gave her bottled water and let her use their poms. TOO CUTE! She is already looking forward to next year. :)

My Little Performer...

This past Saturday my daughter and one of her BFF attended a camp at the high school where I teach. The dancers (Chiefettes) taught them a routine that they will perform at the football game this coming Friday. At the end of the camp, the girls performed the routine that they had learned. My child stood there and rolled her eyes the entire time...I was mortified. At the end she ran up to me and I asked her what was wrong and she replied "I didn't want you to watch me, mom." First of all, when did I become "MOM?!?" That alone blew me away! The fact that she didn't want me to watch her took me back to my preteen years when I just DIED whenever my mother walked in the door. But, my child is 4, not 12! I didn't realize it started so young.

Let's just hope she actually dances this Friday when she is out on the football field. I will be sure NOT to make any kind of eye contact with her. Whew.....

Yesterday the boys went to their first pro baseball game...and did they gave a blast!!! :) My hubby and their uncles took them to the game, bought them treats and filled them up with junk!! :) You can tell by the looks on their faces that they had an amazing time!

This week we booked our flights to Las Vegas. We are going to go for a long weekend in January. This will be the third time in about six years that we have made this "friend" trip. There are about ten of us going and many of us have been friends for 15 plus years. I know it is still four months away but I CAN'T wait. As usual, it will be a blast. The majority of us have children...who will be staying home. It is a good opportunity for us to relax, regroup and enjoy each other. :)

I have always wished that I could be a "creative" person but I am just NOT! So, when art/craft type things come along I am sent into panic mode. As a student, I remember putting a lot of time into certain projects and thinking they actually looked OK. But...when I would get into the classroom and see other BEAUTIFUL ones, I would just sink into my desk.

This week was "All About Me" at the triplets preschool. On Tuesday, I was given "homework" to create pendants for the boys (A.M. is in another class) and I was told they would be put up around the room. Now, don't get my wrong... I LOVE to be involved in their school and help in ANY way I can but this...this is just not my bag. Of course, I did the best job I could and now my art work is being proudly displayed in their class. Sorry boys, mommy tried. :) :)

Four Years ago today I went into labor at 31 weeks. It was just before 8:00PM and we were getting ready to sit down for dinner. The next few hours went by quickly...water broke, immediate labor, rushed to hospital, babies were born 5 hours later!

What a wonderful yet difficult time. I was so happy to have the children that I had prayed for but since they were nine weeks early they had to stay in the hospital. We were back and forth EVERY day to the hospital. It was hard to leave them at the end of each day...I cried OFTEN!! Finally, seven weeks later they were all home.

WOW...that first year was TOUGH! I am and always will be thankful for the help we had at that difficult time. We couldn't have done it without some very special people...love you guys!!!

Four years later I can't believe how BLESSED we are to have such HEALTHY, beautiful, happy children.

Tomorrow is the triplets 4th birthday party. They are completely OUT of their minds excited. Goodie bags are done, cake/food is ordered and outfits are all laid out. There will be 20 plus kids there. Some of the children are from their preschool and others are family friends. It is going to be a ball. Stay tuned for pictures.

Everything is closed, including schools. So, we are stuck at home and I am going CRAZY. The triplets are running around like a bunch of crazy people. This is one of those days you need strength to get through. Best part.....there is NO rain thus far. Wish me luck for the 2nd half of the day.

Well, summer is drawing to a close....all too quickly. School starts on Monday. I will be back to work from 8 to noon Monday through Friday. I LOVE my job but I will miss all my free time with the triplets. Fun water days, the beach, parties, etc...(most of it on a whim) are going to be a thing of the past...at least until next summer. :) The kiddos will be in preschool two days a week and with the nanny the other. They ADORE Leslee and love school, so all is good here.

Big party next Saturday. At this point we are at 55 people. It is going to be a ball.

Their 4th birthday party is next Saturday (August 23rd)....and the triplets are READY. Most of the talk these days is about their party. Who is coming? When will it be? How long can they bounce? The questions are ENDLESS! But, I love the fact that they are SO excited to celebrate. We put their goody bags together the other day. The kids had a ball and of course wanted to play with everything. Everything is planned...from their matching outfits to their amazing cake. I am not sure who is more excited them or ME!!!!

Today is my Poppop's birthday. He died 13 years ago but I still (and always will) celebrate the day he was born. I was beyond blessed to have him in my life for 18 years and I will never forget the wonderful memories we made together. I know he would be so proud of me and the life I have made for myself. And....would he love my children!!!!! :) I know we will be together again some day.

Birthday Party invites are going out today. We are having their party at a "bouncy place" this year and the kids are thrilled. The theme was originally an issue because they are all into different things right now. So...I decided since we are having it at this location, "bouncy" would be our theme. From the invites to the cake everything will deal with jumping, bouncing, etc... It is turning out to be pretty cute. I will be sure to share pics of things as they are completed. :)

The triplets should be starting pre-k this August but they missed the date by ONE day. The cut off is September 1 and they were born on September 2nd. For the longest time, this REALLY bothered me but now I am actually thankful. This extra year will make SO much difference in their maturity level (which is REALLY important for my boys). Instead of being the youngest kids in the class, they will be the oldest. For now, we will continue to send them to preschool twice a week..which they love. :)

Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary...nine years. Our life has taken so many twists and turns in that amount of time. Our marriage has survived law school, three years of infertility treatments and four years of raising triplets. I am proud of how far we have come as a couple/family. I look forward to many more years of memories.

It is SO hard for me to believe that my children are going to be FOUR in a little over a month. When I am in the thick of it, I feel like time moves slowly but when I have a chance to step back...I realize time moves all too fast. Right now we are VERY busy planning their party. It is SO cute how the kids are so "into it." Their invitations arrived in the mail the other day (ADORABLE!) and that has gotten us (me included) really excited. :) What a wonderful time in their lives...I truly TRY to soak it in because I will only experience each stage ONCE.

What a wonderful trip!! Not as restful as I would have liked but we sure did have FUN! I loved having time with my hubby and friends. Although I missed the triplets, I did NOT miss the four year old whining! hehehehe Sure was good to see their little faces this morning. Vacation is wonderful but there is NOTHING better than kisses/hugs from my children!

Tomorrow we leave for San Fransisco.....can't wait! I have been so busy packing for the kids (they are going to the grandparents), writing notes (many notes) and packing for myself. Vacations are always SO wonderful but SO much work prior to departure. I will miss the triplets but I am very ready for a much needed vacation. Stay tuned for pictures upon our return. :)

The children have completed their first week of vacation bible school and they LOVE it. They will go again next week and I know they are looking forward to it. This is the first year they are old enough to attend...I can't believe how big they are getting. It has been a lot of fun listening to them sing all the new songs they are learning. Schools out and the weather is hot...let the fun begin!!! We have so many exciting things planned for the summer and the children are REALLY into it. The other night or should I say early morning (3:00 am), A.M. called for me. I went into her room and she was sitting up in her bed. She looked at me and said "It's summer time and we're going to the beach!" It was the cutest thing! A.M. was oblivious to what time it was, all she cared about was our upcoming beach vacation. Too cute!

Summer fun begins tomorrow. I will try and update pictures often.

For four days, I have had one child. C.A. had his surgery on Thursday and has not been allowed (per the doctor) to be around other children during his recovery. So...the other two thirds have been staying elsewhere. The last few days (though I missed C.M. and A.M.) have been amazing. I TRULY have enjoyed focusing on just HIM. No interruptions, No arguments, No drama....just us and our little boy. In the almost four years they have been alive there have only been a handful of opportunities to spend this much time with one of the triplets alone. There have been many "outings" that they have attended one their own but never for an extended period of time. This has been a weekend full of bonding. I have decided that I am going to make it a point this summer to spend one on one quality time (overnights) with each child. Yes, they are triplets but they ARE also individuals. I am looking forward to this special time. Love U, C.A. - you are and will always my peanut and the fighter of the trio.
